Northeast Tennessee Emergency Physicians

NETEP History:

Northeast Tennessee Emergency Physicians (NETEP) was founded in 1985 and has grown to a team of more than 70 professionals, including physicians and mid-level practitioners. In partnership with Ballad Health, NETEP provides emergent care via emergency departments at two major regional tertiary hospitals and four rural hospitals. In our tertiary facilities, our group primarily consists of emergency-trained, board-certified/eligible physicians and state-licensed NPs/PAs. With more than 100 years of combined experience in the field of emergency medicine and trauma care, NETEP has an outstanding relationship with the medical/allied health community, hospital administration and the public at large. Guided by ACEP standards of practice, NETEP is recognized as the area’s leader in emergency medicine practice with a level one and two trauma rating for our tertiary emergency departments.

NETEP members hail from a wide geographic area and have trained at multiple prestigious residency programs. The diversity of our partners, combined with a democratic style of leadership, has established a firm foundation for continued growth, as well as high satisfaction rates among group members. Many of our newly recruited physicians have come to us through recommendations of existing members encouraging their friends and former residency colleagues to relocate here. The composition of the group is a mix of founding NETEP members and newly graduated residents in emergency medicine.

NETEP Leadership:

NETEP is a private, physician-owned corporation. Our elected group officers include a president, vice president and secretary/treasurer. All group members are encouraged to actively participate in group governance.
